GW38: Super Sunday - What to expect?
The final matchday of the drawn-out 2019/20 campaign is here; an incredible ten games will be played out simultaneously. It will be nerve-racking for the fans, especially for teams that are competing for places, as they'll have to keep a close eye on their rival’s games. There's nothing as exciting in-store like the possibility for a team to clinch the title in the dying seconds of the injury time like in 2011/12. But, there is a lot on stake for these twenty teams on the final day.
Liverpool are Champions and Jordan Henderson lifted the trophy at Anfield on Wednesday. What a year it has been for him! Lifting the Champions League, Club World Cup and now the Premier League trophy, add his personal achievement of winning the FWA’s Footballer of the Year award. Naturally, the FWA’s decision (vote based) drew some flak, there was outrage on twitter on this unjust?! How could Kevin de Bruyne with 11 goals and 19 assists not win the award? I happen to think KDB is the best player in Premier League and I also understand the logic behind the outpour of criticism. However, I believe, Henderson is the worthy winner of the award, it is not easy leading a team that is incredibly consistent and successful. Just listen to Adam Lallana, a departing Liverpool player talk about his captain. It’s not always about numbers, is it?
